Music Maternity Cover

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and skilled teacher to join a dynamic and successful Performing Arts Faculty.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Music to teach primarily across Key Stage 3 with potential for Key Stage 4-5 should the candidate be able to demonstrate prior experience or ability. A wide knowledge of musical elements and an appreciation of the various styles of music is essential as our teaching and learning is underpinned by a belief in the power of a knowledge driven curriculum. Applicants should have an interest in pedagogy and the science of learning, understanding the fundamental principles of knowledge acquisition and how best we, as teachers, can structure students' learning. Experience in delivering both practical and theoretical aspects of Music would be advantageous and a background in singing and/or playing instruments is preferable.

As a Performing Arts team, we are driven by our commitment to providing outstanding creative and cultural opportunities to all of our pupils and our school's wider community. Our extra-curricular provision is at the heart of Towers School and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this whole-heartedly. 

Every academic year, our whole school musical is a huge event. We also run showcases and concerts, as a Faculty, requiring a shared commitment from the whole team. Our clubs and enrichment opportunities will form a key part of the successful applicants role and we are therefore looking for an individual who is passionate about Music inside and outside of the timetabled curriculum. We are able to offer the successful candidate exciting CPD opportunities as a school working towards a Platinum Artsmark Qualification.
