The Prince of Wales Island International Primary School (POWIIS Primary) will provide an excellent, holistic education for its students, and ensure its teachers work in a supportive environment which values professional competency, collaboration and personal development. Applications are invited from outstanding practitioners who are committed to implementing a thriving Music curriculum and extra-curricular activities programme across the Primary School. They should be highly resourceful, forward-thinking professionals and accomplished musicians, who are passionate about their subject and who show a willingness to lead by example. Candidates must be proficient pianists; and those who have a strings background with experience of setting up and developing primary school orchestral programmes are of particular interest.

At least three years’ experience of specialist teaching in the performing arts is required in the U.K. or overseas (teaching the English National Curriculum), regardless of nationality, as is a proven track record in organising extra-curricular activities, school performances and concerts to a high standard. All applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in education, or a first bachelor’s degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education (i.e. PGCE).

The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to develop a Music Department from its inception and work in a purpose-built facility with small class sizes and motivated students. Teachers will have access to excellent resources and specialist music rooms, including practice rooms.

Teachers receive a fully competitive overseas benefits package, including salary, flight allowance, accommodation allowance, inbound and outbound freight allowance, health coverage and 80% of tuition fees for up to two children at the school.
