We are currently seeking an additional experienced, talented and passionate Primary and Secondary Music teacher to join our team as soon as possible. If you are committed to child centred education, with a deep rooted desire to help every child fulfil their potential, and are interested in helping shape the future development of a young international school we would be delighted to hear from you.


We welcome applications from the UK state and independent sector as well as from those already working internationally. Successful applicants will be offered a two year contract, renewable by mutual agreement, with competitive terms of employment and outstanding working conditions.


Required experience and qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Education Degree, or appropriate degree with UK PGCE, iPGCE or other teaching qualification giving QTS. 
  • Excellent working knowledge of teaching Music using the National Curriculum for England. 
  • Current / previous experience teaching Music at IGCSE / GCSE level.

Whilst not essential the following would be highly advantageous: 

  • Current / previous experience of working in an international school. 
  • Experience of / willingness to, teach a second subject.

Letters of application should be no longer than two pages, and applicants should explain why they are interested in working at Astra Academy, what their strengths are and how those strengths could benefit Astra students. CVs should also be no longer than two pages, and should include a passport style photo and the names and email addresses of three professional referees including both the applicant’s current and previous employers. Interested applicants are encouraged to send their application as soon as possible as interviews will take place on a rolling basis as applicants are shortlisted.
