Music Teacher

Inner London Main Scale plus SEN allowance

September 2023 start

‘The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school, since the last inspection.’

(Ofsted January 2018)

London East Alternative Provision (LEAP) is a highly-successful, high-achieving, inner-city school, delivering transformative education to young people of all ages from Primary through to Post-16.

From September 2023, we expect to be providing education to at least 230 students across the full age range from Primary to Post-16 across three separate sites.

This is a particularly exciting time to be joining our team - as we increase the number of our provisions across the borough of Tower Hamlets by opening our new satellite centre in the heart of the Isle of Dogs and expand our already very high-functioning team of teachers and support staff.

Applications are invited from talented, hard-working and committed individuals for the post of Music Teacher at our school. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the LEAP aims, values and ethos and a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for students, including those with complex behavioural needs.

We are looking for a dynamic, committed specialist with and an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the GCSE Music curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a proven academic knowledge of music and a wide range of practical skills in Music, including keyboard and guitar.

In addition to a proven track record in supporting the most vulnerable and challenging students, we are looking for someone who is confident in the use of the Logic sound production system. Our students love making music and need a teacher who can facilitate their progress and support them with their complex behaviour and learning needs. Our Music Department is well-resourced and includes a purpose-built recording studio.

If that sounds like you then we would love for you to apply.

Closing date :             Tuesday 2nd May at 9am

Interviews :                 Week beginning 8th May

Please return your application form by no later than 9am on Tuesday 2nd May to Kathryn Ryan, our School Business Manager.       kathryn.ryan@londoneastap.org.uk

Should you wish to visit our school before deciding whether or not to apply, you will be most welcome. Visits also can be arranged by emailing Kathryn.

London East Alternative Provision is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure and Barred List Checks.
