About Kazakhstan International School (KIS)
Founded in 1999, Kazakhstan International School is a small school with big ideas! Located in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s beautiful former capital, KIS is an International Baccalaureate World School with students and teachers from about 30 countries. We currently offer PYP from Early Years through Grade 5, and have MYP Candidate School status for Grades 6-7 with a view to obtaining accreditation this academic year. Our exciting, modern new campus is due to open in September 2018, enabling us to expand up to Grade 10 and eventually offer the full IB Programme, including the IB Diploma. Our aim is to fully prepare the children of our multicultural community for the challenges of the fast-changing world in which we live, and to play their part in making the world better for everyone.
We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic MYP Coordinator to lead the ongoing development and implementation of this programme at KIS. You will be confident and capable of communicating clearly in order to share your knowledge and skills with colleagues and parents, so that they have a clear understanding of the MYP and how it benefits students. You should be committed to the ideals shared by KIS and the IB, excited by inquiry-based and student-centred education, adaptable, open-minded, cheerful under pressure, and eager to seize the challenges and opportunities of living in one of the world’s biggest yet least-known countries. The ability to establish positive working relationships with students, colleagues and parents from around the world is vital.
KIS students are independent, creative, confident young people. They are a delight to work with. Our local and expatriate staff form a cohesive team of diverse cultural backgrounds, ages and experiences. We enjoy a close partnership with our supportive parents.
Early applications are recommended, as we may appoint ahead of the closing date if we find an outstanding candidate.
KIS is committed to the safety and well-being of its students. Applicants for this post must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with previous employers and a DBS check or equivalent.
Further details of the school can be found on our website, at www.kisnet.org.
