MYP Coordinator
Start Date: August 2017
Responsiblities: - but not limited to:
An exciting position for an experienced team player and MYP Coordinator to the introduction of the programme at Raffles World Academy
• Work in conjunction with the Secondary School Principal and Secondary School Deputy Principal, to foster systems of communication and collaboration in leading and overseeing, reviewing the reporting on the introduction of the programme along with the PYP Coordinator and Diploma Coordinator.
• Assist teams or individuals in developing AOL unit plans
• Ensure appropriate conditions for the conduct of monitoring and moderation of assessment and that all deadlines are met
• Contribute to the organisation and conduct of the procedures for programme evaluations
• Help ease the transition of students and parents from the PYP to MYP and to DP
• Organise the induction of students joining school mid-year or mid-programme and help those leaving the school mid-year or mid-programme with required documentation
• Liaise with the to foster systems of communication and collaboration
• Liaise regularly with HODs, HOYs and MYP subject teachers
• Maintain systems of communication for the entire professional staff in implementing and developing the programme in the school so that all staff are aware of current MYP practice and documentation
• Support staff in ensuring that the concepts of international awareness and international-mindedness permeate all subjects and that the student learning is inquiry based
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience, 2 years as a MYP Coordinator, a Bachelor’s Degree and a recognized teaching certification. Applicants with a Master’s Degree or higher will be given preference. Good communication and technology skills are key requirements.
