The Foundation has an immediate vacancy for a dynamic, motivated technical support specialist covering 1st and 2nd lines of support to join its ICT support team covering all four schools in the Foundation.
The post is based at the Wakefield Girls High School (WGHS) and will support all staff and pupils at the Senior school. Some work may involve supporting the staff and pupils at the Junior School on an ad-hoc basis. There will also be an element of providing cross-Foundation support - working on initiatives and installations (such as the installation, development and management of the Wi-Fi infrastructure) that impact on all the schools in the Foundation as well as attending regular ICT support team meetings.
We are looking for a minimum of eighteen months’ experience in Windows 7 Desktop environment, as well as experience of general network administration through Active Directory, access control and security and the ability to diagnose problems and find solutions to new developments. The successful candidate should hold a recognised computer or network management qualification, e.g. NVQ level 3, CompTIA A+ or Microsoft MTA/MSCE.
This position will be vital to the running of the schools, so applicants should be professional with a helpful attitude and have the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and pupils. Experience of working with the following technologies would be beneficial but not essential; Capita SIMS, SharePoint/Office365 Apple iOS, Microsoft Server to 2012R2, Virtualisation.
This post is full time and permanent, working 37.5 per week, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Wakefield Girls' High School, a selective independent school for girls aged 11-18, first opened its doors in 1878, at a time when the educational and social emancipation of women was accelerating. It occupies an extensive site in a conservation area near the centre of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The school became independent in 1982.
Wakefield Girls' High School forms part of the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation group of schools. Some teaching in Years 12 and 13 takes place jointly with Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, the boys' school in the foundation.
