Job overview

Outwood Academy Hindley is an 11-16 academy, based in the friendly town of Wigan in Greater Manchester, with a curriculum designed to stretch and enrich our students’ experience. The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2022 and as a member of the Outwood Family we believe in putting Students First, Raising Standards and Transforming Lives. We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.

As part of the Trust’s growth into the North West, we are seeking a committed and proactive ICT professional to join the team as a Network Manager, leading the delivery of world class ICT solutions.

You will have responsibility for working across two or more academies within Outwood Grange Academies Trust, providing a technical lead and assisting the Director of Technology in ensuring the effective support and deployment of ICT related equipment and resources, and to provide a robust and efficient service.

As a Network Manager you will be leading, managing and developing the teams of ICT technicians working within the academies you are deployed to work across. You will need to ensure that ICT services and equipment are deployed in line with the Trust’s policies and vision for ICT.

The successful candidate must have experience of installation and management of Windows Servers, Group Policy creation and management (including loopback) and also be able to demonstrate they have experience in network setup and management of firewalls, VLANs, routing and link aggregation.

You will be required to work across and support two academies: Outwood Academies Haydock and Hindley in the first instance, serving the communities of Haydock in St Helens and Hindley in Wigan. Both schools joined the Outwood Family in 2022. As welcoming and supportive academies, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child, we place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.

We believe that learning should be both enjoyable and enriching. With an holistic view of education, we aim to create a safe and secure learning community that encourages healthy and sustainable lifestyles and empowers students to pursue career pathways they will find stimulating and deeply rewarding.
