About St Ann's CofE Primary School

St Ann’s CE Primary School is a mixed Church of England primary academy for pupils aged 4-11, situated in Tottenham, in the North London borough of Haringey. It has just over 200 students.

The school can trace its origins back to 1858 and the establishment of “The Hermitage School” – also known in that era as a “country school”, owing to the rural state of North London at that time.

In 2013, St Ann’s CE Primary School became an academy under the LDBS (London Diocesan Board for Schools) Academies Trust.

Other schools in the trust are: St Andre and St Francis CE Primary School; Millbrook Park CE Primary School; St Paul’s and All Hallows’ CE Primary School; St Michael’s CE Primary School; and Holy Trinity CE Primary School.

Executive headteacher

The motto of St Ann’s CE Primary School is “A community that aspires, believes and achieves”. The school’s mission statement says it aims to provide a Christian context for learning that is academically challenging, caring and stable. Staff strive to develop a school community that has a love of learning.

St Ann’s provides all people involved with the school with the necessary skills and opportunities to take an active role in their education and  reach their potential.

Ofsted report

“Teaching continues to be good. Relationships are good in all classes and pupils move purposefully around the school. Pupils understand and closely follow the school’s behaviour policy. They are courteous, well mannered and welcoming. Older pupils readily take on additional responsibilities, including helping out in the Nursery class during their lunch breaks.”

“Pupils said they feel safe because they are taught well how to keep themselves safe. During the inspection, they knowledgeably discussed the importance of health and safety on site and were able to identify potential hazards.”
