Located near the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale on the edge of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, Underley Garden is an Independent Special School and Children’s Home.

We are Specialists in Education, Care and Therapy for young people with autistic spectrum conditions, learning difficulties and mental health needs. The school and home are committed to providing the best Education and Care for young people between the ages of 5-19.  We also provide continuing care through our 19-25 service, Underley Adult Care.

We now have opportunities for Night Support Workers to join our team and assist in the everyday care, education and treatment of children and young people. As a Night Support Worker you will help to provide a secure, happy and supportive environment within the schools residential houses, ensuring they offer an environment that is clean, tidy, warm and inviting.

Working to ensure the physical, emotional and personal care needs of our children and young people are met, you will liaise with colleagues, Parents and other family members and Social Workers to deliver the best Care Plans. Our Night Support Workers work hard to ensure that the children and young people can carry as much responsibility for their own lives as is reasonable, helping them to live, grow and develop safely and positively.

As a Night Support Worker, you will work to a 4 on 4 off shift rota from 10.30pm to 9am.

Our highly trained, experienced staff are dedicated to unpick each pupil’s specific needs and match them with an integrated blend of educational and therapeutic aims which ensures progress and success.

The onsite therapists – Speech and Language, Occupational, Educational Psychologists and Learning Disability Nurses – regularly visit each class and home to help ensure our therapeutic approach is embedded across every aspect of Underley Garden life.
