Job overview

Are you looking to work in a caring, supportive primary school? Do you have a range of skills that you have to offer?

Visitors often comment on the positive atmosphere in the school and particularly how well-behaved, happy, and hard-working our children are. Being a church school, means any decision made comes from a place of love for the whole child. We are a school for families with a Christian faith, different faiths and also those with no faith who encourage our children to be outward looking but reflective, knowledgeable and curious.

We have a great opportunity to join the staff of our successful school! We require an enthusiastic, committed and talented Nursery Nurse or Nursery Assistant to join our EYFS team. The post is a full-time, term time only role supporting the youngest of our children here at the school who begin their journey from age 3. The role may also involve taking the lead on sessions when the class teacher is not present.

We have a fabulous learning space to work in and children eager to learn and be creative. In our OFSTED inspection in December 2019, our EYFS was rated outstanding with the way the staff work together as a team highlighted as a particular strength so there will be a good support network in place for any new members of staff joining us. A Level 6 in childcare or equivalent is necessary for this post. You must have knowledge of and experience with the EYFS. Salary level payable will depend on qualifications and experience. A visit to see our school in action is strongly recommended. Please call the office to arrange a visit. If you would like to pay a visit the school then please do not hesitate to contact the school office on 01279652607 or email at

admin@stmichaelsjmi.herts.sch.uk.

This school is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
