Salary/Scale: £18,723-£20,014, Point 1- Point 4 (dependent upon experience). Full Time Equivalent.

Overall purpose of the post:
St Peter’s School 2 - 8 is seeking to appoint an outstanding Nursery Assistant to work with our Early Years (3–4-year-old) pupils. The role is term time only.
You will have a strong ethos and passion for Early Years education, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement of your own practice. You will assist the Nursery team to provide high quality care and learning opportunities for the children in Nursery.
Key responsibilities:
- To assist in providing high quality, child-centred care and education
- To participate in planning in order to provide a range of activities designed to meet the individual and communal needs and interests of the children
- To assist with the planning and the delivery of a play-based curriculum that responds to the children’s interests, needs and development
- To supervise and encourage positive, safe behaviour for children
- To build positive relationships with children by acting as a role model and providing a warm, caring environment
- To conduct regular observations on children and assist in completing developmental records.
- To enhance the nurseries continuous provision to help create a stimulating, enabling and exciting learning environment
- To assist children with personal, social hygiene and care
- To identify and report concerns in regard to children’s development and progress
- To promote and engage in effective, positive communication with children, colleagues, staff and parents
- To participate in regular staff meetings/events and training
- To adhere to the Nursery’s Policies and Procedures
- To maintain and complete nursery paperwork (medicine checks, accident forms etc)
- To assist in wrap-around school provision and lunch time duties.
