West Ashton Primary School seek a friendly, flexible and efficient Office Administration Apprentice to work with the administrative and finance staff carrying out a range of administrative tasks.

  • Filing, opening and distributing post
  • Answering the phone and checking e-mail enquiries
  • Updating the administrative database and school calendar
  • Liaising with members of the public, students and staff regarding school related enquiries
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
  • Assist with pupil needs as appropriate during the working hours

Skills Required

  • To have written and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to establish good working relationships with staff, pupils and outside agencies
  • To have an acceptable level of computer literacy

Qualifications Required

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Hold 5 x GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent)

Personal Qualities

  • Wiliness to undergo an enhanced DBS check performed by the Employer/school

Important Other Information

Prior to interview you are required to complete online initial assessments in Maths, English & ICT. These are called BKSB. If you’re shortlisted please print out the results and take them with you to the interview. You’ll receive an email from NST Head Office with instructions.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
