Addington Valley Academy (AVA) is a co-educational Special School which will have 150 places for children and young people aged 2-19 who have autism and social communication, cognitive, sensory and social, emotional, and behavioural needs in the Croydon region. All our children have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). We opened in September 2020 with an initial cohort of 22 ASD year 7 pupils in a temporary site based in Croydon.

This is an exciting time in the school’s development with a planned relocation to a newly constructed school building for the academic year 2021-22 with a fantastic learning environment designed to meet the needs of autistic children.

We are looking for a candidate with enthusiasm to work under the guidance of our School Office Manager. You will be required to liaise closely with a number of internal and external stakeholders to provide high quality reception and administrative support as integral members of the School Office Team.

The school receptionist role will involve working within our friendly and busy school reception area. You will meet and greet all visitors, parents and pupils upon arrival in a professional and friendly manner as well as answering and transferring calls and taking messages. You will also assist the School Office Manager with various administrative tasks including carrying out general office tasks such as filing, typing and photocopying. In addition, using the school’s internal system to record, update and monitor data.
