We offer a nurturing, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment where students are supported to achieve both academically and personally. Our ethos is rooted in empathy, respect, and the belief that learning differences should never be a barrier to success. Staff at Holmewood work collaboratively to provide an innovative and flexible approach to education.
As part of Cavendish Education - a unique schools group - we are committed to thinking differently, teaching differently, and positively changing the world for those with unique learning profiles.

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Office Manager to lead the operational and administrative functions of our school. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of our campuses and supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in delivering outstanding education and care.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:
  •   Leading and managing office staff across all campuses, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
  •   Ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school’s administrative operations.
  •   Implementing compliance actions as directed by the Compliance Officer and Headteacher.
  •   Acting as Attendance Champion, monitoring and reporting on pupil attendance.
  •   Supporting recruitment, induction, and HR compliance processes.
  •   Overseeing health, safety, and welfare systems, including first aid, visitor management, and emergency procedures.
  •   Liaising with Cavendish Education on MIS, IT, and operational coordination.

About You
We’d love to hear from you if you’re a confident and capable professional who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys leading others to success.

Essential:
  •   Proven experience in office management or senior administrative leadership, ideally in an educational or multi-site setting.
  •   Excellent organisational and people management skills.
  •   Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  •   Confidence using MIS and administrative systems.
  •   A positive, flexible approach and commitment to supporting a neurodiversity-affirming environment.

Desirable:
  •   Experience within an independent or specialist school setting.
  •   Knowledge of compliance processes (HR, safeguarding, health and safety).
  •   Familiarity with systems such as SchoolPod, Arbor, TimeMoto, ParentMail or similar.

Why Work with Us?
  • Hybrid working model: enjoy working from home during school holidays (around 17 weeks per year), unless there’s a specific need to be on site.
  • Enhanced family-friendly leave to support colleagues through key life events.
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme through Smart Pension.
  • Cycle to Work scheme to support sustainable commuting.
  • Discretionary gift days between Christmas and New Year to promote rest and wellbeing.
  • A warm, supportive and collaborative staff community.
  • Ongoing opportunities for professional development.
  • A school culture that values creativity, compassion, and individuality within a neurodiversity-affirming environment.

The Holmewood School is a growing independent day school for neurodivergent children and young people aged from 7 to 19 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our young people are broadly similar to their mainstream peers in their academic ability but require support with communication and interaction, executive functioning, anxiety, functional skills and other needs related to their diagnosis. Many of our young people also have coaccurring diagnoses, such as ADHD and dyslexia.

We were awarded an Outstanding rating by Ofsted following their visit in May 2022 and we are proud to have Advanced Accreditation Status granted by the National Autistic Society.
