Operations Assistant

We are looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic Operations Assistant to join our busy school team. This is a varied role, providing important administrative and operational support across the school and working closely with staff, senior leaders and other support teams. 

The role includes coordinating daily staff cover, supporting assessment and data management, producing learning resources and providing reprographics support. You will also assist with examinations, school events and displays, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload and being at the heart of school life. 

This role is a job share, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking for flexible working. We are also committed to supporting the successful candidate to develop in the role, with training provided across the key areas of responsibility. Previous experience in all aspects of the role is not essential; we are looking for someone who is organised, willing to learn, able to use their initiative and enjoys working as part of a team.

Hours - this is a part time role – 29 hours per week. We’re happy to offer flexibility around how your 29 hours are worked, helping you to find a pattern that works well for you and fits with the needs of the role. The only fixed requirement is that Thursday and Friday are working days, with a 7:30am start on both days. The remaining hours and working days can be agreed with you as part of the role.

Salary:

NJC Scale, Points 12-17 (£29,542-£32,046 FTE). Actual salary will be pro rata and commensurate with experience (£20,211 - £21,924 actual) 29 hours per week over 4 days, term-time only plus 5 inset days.

Founded in 1912, the school is rated “Outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted (2022) and secures some of the best examination results at GCSE and A level in the country. Almost all students progress to university with many attending the best Russell Group universities including Oxford, Cambridge and many others.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is an academy school based in Altrincham, Cheshire for boys aged 11-18.

The school was founded in 1912. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a multi-ethnic seven-form entry 11-18 selective Academy School. It caters for boys who have been selected for a grammar school education from a wide area of South Manchester and North Cheshire. The academic results are outstanding and they place the School in the top 20 maintained schools in the country. Our GCSE results are strong in respect of 9/8 grades and our ‘A’ level results in respect of A*/A/B grades. The 2022 Ofsted Report graded the School as ‘Outstanding in all area’.
