We are delighted to offer the opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our fantastic team in this crucial role for the school. Responsibilities will include providing a dedicated HR and recruitment service for the school in addition to ensuring that current legislation is followed for both H&S and GDPR. The effective management of our recruitment process includes providing induction plans, contracts, DBS checks and appropriate references for all new starters. The appointed candidates will ideally have an understanding of the compliance requirements for an Educational Establishment, although this is not essential.

The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient and able to prioritise and multi-task effectively. You will enjoy working as part of a team and have a desire to excel in all that you do. We offer an exceptionally vibrant environment in which to work with supportive staff and a forward-looking, innovative ethos.

The successful candidate will have:

• Formal HR Qualification (minimum CIPD Level 3)

• Formal H&S Qualification

• The ability to work discreetly with confidential and sensitive information

• Good knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities

• A collaborative manner, and a flexible, “can do” approach

• Strong experience and understanding of MS Office and Google Suite

We offer:

• A fantastic working environment with a dedicated and friendly team

• Flexible working to meet your own needs

• Free Lunch

• Free Parking

• 30% discount on fees

• Subsidised onsite gym access (with two free days usage per week)

Set in a stunning location we are Derbyshire’s leading independent day school with approximately 300 students. As a small school we are renowned for our friendly and welcoming atmosphere and have a strong reputation as a place where staff and students feel valued, respected and part of a real family.

Derby Grammar School is Derbyshire’s leading independent day school for boys and girls aged 4 to 18, becoming fully co-educational in September 2023, following the success of our co-educational Sixth Form and Primary School.

Established in 1995, our Primary School, Senior School and Sixth Form are housed in a stunning setting within our own grounds in Littleover, Derby.

Three principles lie at our core: excellent teaching, incredible opportunities and a supportive, friendly atmosphere. These are the things that make us special.  They are the reasons our pupils come into school each day with a smile, eager to learn and expand their minds.

We strive to bring education to life and inspire a passion for learning that remains with our pupils throughout their lives. The enthusiasm of our teachers sparks excitement and interest for curious minds. We create an  environment where our pupils’ strengths are sought out and celebrated. Our small size enables us to do this; we know and treat each child as an individual.

Our catchment area is local, extending up to 20 miles from Littleover. We have grown steadily since we began back in 1995.

What strikes most visitors to our School is our warm and friendly environment which fosters an ambition to learn, to contribute and take part. It results in pupils who emerge as confident, knowledgeable and considerate individuals who are ready, willing and more than able to take on life’s challenges - and succeed.
