Star International School Mirdif is a bespoke British Curriculum School situated in the Mirdif community of Dubai offering EYFS, Primary and Secondary Education. We are looking to appoint an Operations Manager who has the enthusiasm, commitment, and energy needed to work in a rapidly evolving and expanding school. The role would be from July 2022.
About The Post
We require an inspiring Operations Manager to join our family at Star International School Mirdif from July. This is an exciting role that covers all aspects of school operations.
The ideal candidate will work with Head Office, SLT, Facilities, Security, Health and Safety, and line manage the Admin Team to ensure the best quality of provisions and customer support is given to the whole community, whilst maintaining and consistently improving the excellent reputation the school holds.

The school is currently in an exciting place of growth and development, the selected candidate will play a key part in this expansion and the facility requirements that will be needed in order to continue excelling in the delivery of excellent education and community. You will manage an incredible team who have taken the school through the pandemic and have an excellent work ethic.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Finance: Work with SLT and Head Office to identify and negotiate an annual operating budget, inclusive of site developments, digital services, physical resources, and health and safety materials as well as marketing costs. Negotiate with third-party providers to ensure the best cost for the best quality product.
- HR Support: Act as the mediator between Head Office HR and staff, ensuring staff feels their issues are heard and valued.
- Administration Management: Manage and oversee the whole school administration, implementing systems and procedures where improvements could be implemented to support efficiency and customer care; oversee productivity and success of systems in place to assess for further improvement; assess registration alongside the admissions manager reviewing re-registration trends to deliver appropriate recommendations; oversee admin documentation alongside the Arabic secretary to ensure legal compliance for all levels of inspection.
- Leadership: Ensure the team remains united and supportive of one another, develop excellent working relationships, and lead with kindness and trust to consistently develop and raise the skillset and well-being of the team.
- Ensure that systems around data input are robust, working with the admin team. Ensure that the school website and comparison websites hold the most up-to-date information about our rapidly developing school; support the vision and development of systems that can improve the efficiency and security of storing confidential information.
- Property Management: Support and Lead the Site Manager & Health and Safety Officer, identifying and ensuring the school look its best throughout the year and provides a safe environment for the students and staff; oversee the security operations throughout the school to make sure the school remains safe. Direct and lead site overhauls and large-scale site refurbishments with third-party contractors, negotiating price and timetable of build and implementation.
- Health and Safety: Support and oversee the Clinics and the Health and Safety Officer, providing support to queries and development as well as clinic resources, training plans, and health and safety materials.
- Resources: Manage the inventory of physical and digital resources to ensure awareness of current and future provisions requirements, investigate costs of resources and negotiate where necessary to reduce outgoings. Work directly with the Resources Manager and the Senior Leadership Team and Middle Leadership Teams to negotiate short-term, mid-term, and long-term requirements to develop reasonable budget requests.
- Marketing: Oversee and implement marketing calendars and plans to support the needs of each phase of school. Work closely with and lead the Parent Relations Officer and Registrar (with the support of the Arabic Secretary) to ensure all parent outreach activities are met and that excellent communication is maintained with our current parents to ensure they feel seen and heard.
- Parent Relations Support: Support SLT with parent tours, and conversations regarding family support as and when these should arise. Treat each case with the utmost respect and confidentiality, seeking an adequate resolution where possible to support families in our communities.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in business management, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience of leadership experience.
- Experience in managing and leading strategic plans, budgets, projects, and managing diverse teams.
- Excellent IT skills, including Google Drive and related apps, ideally MIS/SIS platforms experience (SIMS/ISAMS).
- Prior experience in organising and managing marketing data will be an advantage.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills. Preferred: experience in negotiation and relationship building.
- Proficient and confident in problem-solving and delegation.
Desirable
- 2 years experience in a School Admin Middle Leadership Position or higher, with an understanding of school-enterprise challenges and targets. However, we will accept interviews from candidates who show skill sets in other areas, if the school deems the application appropriate.

Contracts are for two years in the first instance and include:
