Tarleton Academy is a vibrant and ambitious school with a culture of high expectations. We are now looking for an Operations Manager (Maternity Cover) to be the effective and efficient conduit for the Central Operations and Finance Hub for the Trust at Tarleton Academy coordinating the operational management of school-based functions.

The main duties will be :

To be the conduit for the central Operations and Finance Hub for the Trust at school level

To facilitate the financial function of Tarleton Academy within the financial requirements of the Trust, including private school fund

To liaise with the catering function to facilitate the resolution of school based problems 

To be the ‘go to’ person in the Academy in coordinating the requests for purchases, ensuring all documentation appropriately checked and authorised for submission to the Central Operations Team

To undertake the co-ordination and operational management of school based functions for example:

• The chrome book scheme, 

• The catering cash less system, 

• School transport, 

• Student lockers, 

• Sale of online resources to students including the school shop

To support the effective budget monitoring of simple internal budgets with budget holders, under the direction and support of the Finance Manager of the Trust.

To be responsible for the distribution of petty cash and collection of monies.

To undertake physical check of assets

To liaise with parents with regards to online accounts to support the cashless function of the Academy

To co-ordinate the operation of school trips for Tarleton Academy

To assist in the personnel and recruitment function of the Academy

To maintain the Single Central Record for Tarleton Academy, ensuring that all appropriate recruitment checks have been carried out

To co-ordinate the monthly payroll preparation i.e. ensuring that internal monthly casual claims are appropriately checked and authorised for submission to the central Operations Team

To maintain the data for SIMS personnel and the annual Workforce Census 

To maintain and co-ordinate the CPD functions for staff at Tarleton Academy

To assist in the co-ordination of Health and Safety procedures at the Academy 

To carry out first aid and risk assessments

To provide administration support where required in the organisation

To carry out routine office duties

To contribute to the duty rotas at unstructured times as required 

To be willing to work at other sites within the Trust if required. (mileage will be paid)

To undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the CEO/Executive Headteacher. 


This role is term time only plus two weeks.


Grade and Range of Post: Grade 6 Points 11 -19 

Full year salary SCP 11 £21,748 - SCP 19 £25,481

Pro-rata salary SCP 11 £18,906 - SCP 19 £22,151
