About Our Lady Help of Christians Primary LISMORE

Established in 1924 by the Sisters of St Joseph, Our Lady Help of Christians is a co-educational Catholic Primary School catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school is located in Lismore South, New South Wales and belongs to the local Catholic Parish.

Principal

Michael Piccoli

Facilities

Our Lady Help of Christians underwent a million dollar refurbishment during the years of 2000 and 2001. This enabled the school to offer a modern teaching and learning environment for both students and teachers. At present the school is involved in an Information Communication Technology pilot program addressing pedagogy and the use of ICT in the classroom.

Curriculum

Students engage in a literacy and numeracy block each day and the school is well resourced in all Key Learning Areas. Students from Years 3 to 6 engage in special classes in art, dance, drama and music each week. ICT is used in every classroom with a one to one laptop program offered in Year 5 and Year 6. Our Lady Help of Christians Parish School is registered by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) (NSW) and managed by the Lismore Catholic Schools Office.

School ethos

In 2012, the school sought input from students, staff and parents to develop a new vision. The school is a community that provides a supportive environment where children can realise, develop and share their talents whether they are spiritual, academic or social. Each child is seen as a unique reflection of Jesus.
