Job overview

Once Britain's best-kept secret, Bletchley Park, Home of the Codebreakers, is a unique heritage and museum site with an award-winning learning programme. The Ultra Bursary programme successfully promotes STEM skills, encourages positive attitudes to STEM learning and highlights the relevance of computational and mathematical thinking, reaching schools with high numbers of pupil premium students including SEN, alternative provision and hospital schools. The Outreach Officer (Ultra) role delivers inspiring outreach learning activities for education providers who are eligible for this funding, and undertakes administrative tasks including reporting on bursary funded activities.

Bletchley Park values highly inspirational, authentic, interactive, inclusive and collaborative learning experiences that engage visitors with our collections, site and exhibitions focusing on history, computing, mathematics and technology. The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching, communication and collaborative working skills with an ability to engage with diverse audiences, communicate with stakeholders and work independently. Access to their own car and full, valid driving licence will be required. The post will require a highly motivated individual with enthusiasm for creative engagement and a demonstrable interest in teaching mathematics and other STEM fields with a historical context. Experience of organising, administrating, teaching and delivering successful STEM activities within a museum, heritage or learning environment is essential as is the ability to work with diverse audiences including groups with special educational needs and access requirements.

This is a temporary post for one year with the possibility of extension subject to securing further funding.

Bletchley Park is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk and expects all staff, volunteers and external agencies to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service and appropriate references.
