Job overview

Outreach Teacher

The Bridge Short Stay School – To start as soon as possible.

Main Pay Scale £30,000 (M1) - £41,333 (M6)

At The Bridge Short Stay School, we don’t believe a student’s past defines their future, we are looking for an exceptional individual who shares our belief that students who have previously struggled in a mainstream environment can go on to thrive.

The Bridge provides education for students who have been permanently excluded for a variety of reasons. A number of those students struggle to either attend regularly or demonstrate positive social interactions within school – you'll be responsible for teaching these students in their home or the community on either a 1:1 or small group basis. Working with our outreach coordinator you will provide high quality learning while also breaking down the barriers to successful attendance within school with the aim of supporting them in being able to attend regularly and successfully.

Our work at the school is challenging but rewarding, staff have positive relationships with students and change lives on a daily basis. You will be able to see the potential behind the behaviour; you will also have the patience and resilience that allows you to offer students a genuine fresh start and the chance to achieve. As part of a small, but dedicated, team you will have a commitment to working in partnership with colleagues and families to do whatever it takes to make a real difference in young peoples lives.

This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a difference and can see a child as more than a grade. We are looking for someone who can teach core skills in a range of subjects, including English and Maths, more importantly you will be someone who shares our values, believes in our young people and is able to inspire aspiration in them. In return the successful candidate will join a talented and committed team and will be supported to be the best teacher they can be.

For more information about this role please arrange a discussion by contacting the school on enquiries@thebridge.cheshire.sch.uk For more information about the school please visit our website at www.thebridge.cheshire.sch.uk

The Bridge Short Stay School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An online search will be undertaken for shortlisted candidates and enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation. A copy of our safeguarding policy is available on the school website

Closing date 12pm Friday 26th April 2024
