Vision for Education, the supply arm of TES, are seeking to appoint an Outreach Tutor (Primary and Secondary) to join our successful supply teaching team and to across various outreach provisions across Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. This position will start from September 2018 and will involve completing 1:1 tutoring placements with children and young people; either on a day to day, short-term or long-term basis.

The desired Outreach Tutor will be teaching a variety of subjects up to GCSE Level, with a special emphasis on Maths, English and Science. You will be supported by outstanding and dedicated management teams, and be working alongside some excellent Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) practitioners. The successful candidate must have experience of teaching children and young people with behavioural difficulties and have the ability to teach stimulating lessons on a 1:1 basis with students.

The ideal Outreach Tutor will be expected to document sessions and write a report on how each session has gone whilst working with a student on a 1:1 basis.

The successful Outreach Tutor position will involve you teaching students from Key Stage One (KS1) through to Key Stage Four (KS4) that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Difficulties, Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) at outreach provisions in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.  

The ideal Outreach Tutor will be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with young people in their home and outreach provisions (such as Community Centres and Libraries). The duration of the tutoring sessions will vary depending on the students you are supporting.  

***It is essential that you are flexible and able to travel to and from settings if required for this role. Please note that there may be gaps between when a child finishes a placement and when you start a new placement with a new student.***

To be considered for the position as an Outreach Tutor you must:   

•Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) OR be an Instructor Tutor with a teaching qualification such as their Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) 

•Have experience teaching children and young people, including children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD), Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Difficulties 

•Have a passion for teaching and possess the ability to plan and deliver inspiring and engaging lessons 

•Be flexible, adaptable and happy to travel around Wisbech

 •Be able to work on a 1:1 basis effectively with young people  

•Have a genuine desire to become part of committed team of childcare practitioners

You must be eligible to work in the UK and meet Vision for Education's stringent safeguarding checks for this position as an Outreach Tutor.
