Job overview

Are you enthusiastic, passionate and have a good sense of humour? We would love to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organised individual to provide efficient support to the Executive Headteacher in support of the AMAT’s strategic objectives. The successful applicant will have experience of working as a Personal Assistant at a senior level, will have excellent keyboard and IT skills and the interpersonal skills to engage with all stakeholders.

As the first point of contact for the Executive Headteacher, you will ensure the smooth running of the Executive Headteacher’s diary on a day-to-day basis. You will be confident working in a fast-paced and demanding changing educational environment and will play an important role in supporting the Executive Headteacher in leading the Academies across the Trust. You will be able to prioritise to meet varied demands with precision. You must be able to remain calm under pressure, show initiative and have a great attention to detail.

The successful applicant will handle highly confidential matters and work with the utmost trust and sensitivity, handling sometimes complex situations with staff, students and parents. Due to the nature of the job, the successful candidate will need to be flexible to support the needs of the Executive Headteacher and the SLT.

You will be working in a GOOD school. Our Ofsted in November 2017 highlighted our many Good and Outstanding features. We are the highest performing school in North Solihull with a positive Progress 8 score for the last two years of publication. Our percentage of Grade 5 or above in the Basics has continued to improve year on year and this reflects our desire to be Outstanding. We are a school with a very strong Sixth Form with results among the best in the country.

We promise to offer you both a stimulating and highly rewarding experience in return for your motivational skills and good practice. Come and visit us – you will not be disappointed. Exceptional candidates may be interviewed prior to the closing date.

If you would like to join an Academy where the future is set to be an impressive one, or to arrange a visit or a conversation about this opportunity, please contact Wendy Howes, Executive Headteacher’s PA, on 0121 748 0401 or email: recruitment@parkhall.org

Alternatively, please visit www.parkhallschool.org.uk to download details and an application form. Please include a supporting statement of no more than one side of A4 outlining how your experience, knowledge, skills and abilities equip you for the post.

Closing date: Monday 3 December 2018 at 9.00am

The Park Hall/Arden Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and as such expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

At Park Hall Academy our aim is to help students to reach the very highest standards of excellence and to meet each individual's academic, personal and social needs. We expect students to wear the school uniform, we insist on good discipline and we are proud of the excellent partnerships which exist between students, staff and parents. We continue to make strong efforts to improve communications with parents, to listen to comments and to deal with complaints.

As a large secondary academy, we believe that we have a central place in the local community. We have very strong links with primary schools, and we work with business and industry to enhance the relevance of the school curriculum. We are keen to work in partnership with companies to enhance the part we play in the education and life of the whole community, and we have ambitious plans to develop this role. The network of sports clubs and voluntary organisations with whom we are involved grows each year. These are essential parts of our crusade for continuous improvement.
