Collingham College is seeking a PA for its new Head of GCSE to assist and support her in leading and developing this small but vibrant department.
The GCSE Department accommodates around 35 GCSE students, the main body of which are in Year 11, and delivers one-year, intensive courses. Although it operates in liaison with the sixth-form college, the Department has its own building in Kensington and, in some ways, operates as a small, independent school in its own right.
The role is to support the Head of GCSE in developing the Department and monitoring student attendance. In addition, you should be able to deliver great pastoral care, helping to organize, manage and support the students through one of the most challenging years of their academic careers.
There are secretarial duties, but because of the high degree of interaction with the students, this post would suit someone looking for more than an just an administrative post.
In addition to your excellent interpersonal skills, you should be computer literate, have a strong telephone manner and, most importantly, a real affinity with the 14-16 age group.
