PA to the Principal and HR Lead – 1 year contract in the first instance
Salary: paid on the Sixth Form College salary scale depending on experience
Hours of Work:36 per week, full time
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a new member of staff to the College who will lead on all matters relating to Human Resources and act as the PA to the Principal. The successful candidate will lead and develop HR provision, taking responsibility for policy, recruitment and general personnel matters at St. Dominic’s, including recruitment safeguarding and maintaining the Single Central Record. The successful candidate will need to have a confident knowledge of general HR matters to ensure that the systems and processes are effective and efficient. The maintenance of the Single Central Record and relevant DBS checking is also part of this role. It is envisaged that the HR part of the role will account for around half of the appointees’ working week. The PA aspect of this role is to support the Principal with all secretarial work, diary keeping and general administrative work, being mindful of the confidentiality and assist with matters relating to safeguarding procedures. The main focus of this role is general administration, liaison with staff, students, parents, governors and other stakeholders, general promotion of the College as and when required and other general duties when they arise as directed by the Principal. You will be required to work efficiently and accurately and have excellent time keeping, attendance and punctuality. A high level of ICT is a key requirement and the ability to learn and implement new software important. A good sense of humour is an in important pre-requisite. The College has an excellent CPD programme and training will be provided as and when necessary for your professional development Flexibility and reliability are essential to ensure the smooth running of the Principal’s office and a friendly, approachable manner with strong people skills are most important.
