About the Opportunity


Whiteland Academy's newly appointed Principal, Emma Bryson, is looking to appoint an experienced HR Manager - come - PA who would like to join our dedicated school team to contribute to ensuring our Academy continues to develop and flourish. 

This is an exciting opportunity to balance the Human Resources aspects of the school with assisting the Principal directly. A busy and dynamic role with the support and network of working in partnership with the teaching staff in the school, local governing body and staff from other schools that make up The White Horse Federation. 


Your varied responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support ER caseloads
  • Manage the recruitment administration from beginning to end
  • Provide a comprehensive and professional HR support to the Principal
  • Work with other HR professionals within the organisation such as Trust HR Business Partners
  • Support and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, attending SLT meetings if required to ensure the efficient operation of the Academy
  • Reporting to Regional Business Services Manager, provide effective and efficient day to day management of the Academy Office and the Administration Team
  • Ensure the provision of accurate and timely advice and guidance to managers on policies and procedures, pay and terms and conditions and employment legislation
  • HR administrative duties as detailed in the attached JD


Our ideal candidate will be

  • Part professional qualification (CIPD) (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous experience in a Human Resource role, preferably in the education sector (some considerable experience in a similar role)
  • Effective use of IT and new technologies
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, legislation and employment law
  • Ability to organise and plan systems
  • An ability to work independently and be pro-active in all that you do
  • The ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities within the HR role
