We are looking for an exceptional candidate to provide efficient and effective support to the Principal. In addition, the post holder will assume the responsibility of Office Manager; line managing the academy’s Reception/Admin function. As Clerk to the Academy Council, the post holder will clerk all meetings and provide administrative support on behalf of the Chair.

The successful candidate will come from an administrative background. Previous experience of leading and motivating staff; providing clear vision and direction would be desirable though support will be provided. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to gain credibility at all levels are essential. Well-developed ICT skills and, an understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality will be vital to the role. Owing to the nature of the post, candidates should be flexible and appreciate attendance to evening meetings will be required.

Working in a fast paced environment, your workload will be varied and demanding, challenging your prioritisation, organisation and planning skills, and will require a calm, adaptable and solution-focused approach. You will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in all areas of your practice. 

You will need to foster positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues, both internal and external to the school, requiring you to be a confident communicator with adept interpersonal and written communication skills. 

Managing a small team of administrative staff, you will oversee the smooth running of the school’s administration function. Undertaking annual performance reviews, staff training and development will also form part of your line management responsibilities. 

Acting as Clerk to the Academy Council, you will service meetings and provide administrative support to the Academy Council Chair with the management of Governor recruitment and training. 

Please note this role will involve regular attendance to after school and evening meetings/events.
