The School seeks to appoint a Personal Assistant to the Head.

The successful candidate will develop a comprehensive understanding of the needs of the Head and the ethos of the School in order to provide outstanding administrative support. Exercising sound and professional judgment, the PA to the Head will anticipate and solve problems and exercise initiative to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the Head’s office and School.

Working with the Head of Admissions and Marketing, the successful applicant will deliver an engaging, professional and welcoming service to key stakeholders, and assist in the organisation of events.

The School

St Christopher’s School is an independent day prep school for over 240 girls ages 4 to 11. It was founded in 1883 by an enthusiastic educationalist, Miss Roberts, based in her father’s drawing room. It started as a mixed school, but by 1950 it had become primarily a girls’ school. It became known as St Christopher’s School in 1919 when it moved to its current site.

The School was subject to an ISI Inspection in March 2022 (Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection). All compliance standards were met and the standard of pupils’ academic achievement and personal development was rated as excellent. St. Christopher’s was also nominated in the ‘Independent Prep School of the Year’ category at the TES Schools Awards 2022.

The appointment is subject to at least two satisfactory references, receipt of Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) disclosure, verification of identity and qualifications, satisfactory medical fitness, evidence of the right to work in the UK and DfE prohibition checks. Additional overseas checks will be required for candidates who have lived or worked outside the UK.

About St Christopher's School

St Christopher’s School is a non-denominational, independent day school for girls aged 4-11.  It is located in Hampstead, North London, and has about 245 pupils.

The primary school was founded in 1883, with the earliest written records appearing in 1889 of a small class begun by an enthusiastic educationalist in her father's drawing room. This small establishment grew into a preparatory school known as the Hampstead Kindergarten and School. 

Now known as St Christopher’s, the school changed from private ownership to a charitable educational trust in 1972. The trustees form the school’s board of governors.
