We have an ideal school administrative opportunity for someone who has exceptionally high levels of administrative skills in a multi-support role.  The role involves working between Monday – Friday from 8.30am – 4.30pm term time only including INSET days (39 weeks) and in addition 5 days to be worked during the school holidays as directed by the Headteacher.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from those who have gained experience by working in a school setting and although not essential, is confident in using the school’s MIS system, SIMS. It is also essential that you have excellent IT skills, are proficient in using Microsoft Office products such Word, Excel and Publisher and have excellent communication skills.

Your range of duties will include:

  • undertaking administrative support of complex procedures to the Head and members of the Senior Leadership Team
  • plan, organise and maintain the Head of School’s diary, arranging appointments and meetings, so that the Head of School’s diary is well managed and all key priorities are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Provide full administrative and secretarial support including managing meeting agendas, distributing papers and some minute taking for leadership meetings.
  • Manage secretarial and support staff in the Headteacher’s office including recruitment and annual performance reviews.
  • undertaking all aspects of the admissions process including completing and submitting complex forms/returns including those to outside agencies e.g. LA, DfE.
  • analysing and evaluating data and information in SIMS and produce reports as required

Skills and experience required:

  • being able to plan your workload and respond to the school’s demands and priorities
  • working in a calm, organised manner and be self-motivated to be able to work on your own initiative
  • working collaboratively as part of the School’s Administrative team
  • Ability to build excellent relationships and liaise confidently with senior management, staff, parents, governors and the wider community
  • having highly effective communication skills whether face-to-face, written or over the phone positively representing the school
  • Ability to approach confidential matters with discretion, sensitivity and diplomacy
  • Resilient, friendly & good sense of humour
