About the role

Undertakes a full range of cleaning duties using domestic and industrial cleaning equipment to ensure all areas of the educational setting are maintained to a specified quality standard.

The hours are 10 hours a week/ 2 hours a day Monday to Friday 3.30 pm-5.30 pm, term time only plus one week.

About our Academy

Hogsthorpe Primary Academy was built in 1857 to serve the local community of Hogsthorpe.

Our school is set on the edge of the village and adjoins the village playing field and Village Hall.

We cater for children from the ages of 4 to 11 and, at present, have around 70 children on roll.

Everyone at Hogsthorpe Primary Academy is committed to doing their best for each and every child.

To do this we try to ensure our school is colourful, exciting and welcoming to all who enter it – a place where children and adults feel secure and confident to experiment and take risks, whilst always striving for excellence.

We know that each of our children comes to school with different experiences, knowledge and skills and that each has different learning needs and preferred ways of learning. We, therefore, aim to match our provision to the needs of each child.

Who we are looking for

The idea candidate will have:

·       Basic standard of education

·       Experience of working in a school environment

·       Previous employment as a cleaner

·       Ability to clean and maintain a full range of industrial and domestic cleaning equipment and materials

·       Ability to use tact and demonstrate empathy with facility users, students and staff

Ability to work as part of a team

·       Understanding of health and safety issues associated with cleaning materials, equipment and premises
