Job overview

We are seeking to recruit an experienced EAL Teacher to work on a part-time basis at our friendly and highly successful school from September 2022.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Create weekly timetables for pupils with EAL and share these with relevant staff;
  • Teach EAL to the highest standards and monitor the progress of EAL pupils in conjunction with colleagues;
  • Ensure that detailed profiles of each pupil’s linguistic development are kept and relevant information is shared with colleagues;
  • Liaise with individual subject teachers in order to act as a source of expertise and/or to enable further planning and target setting to take place;
  • Communicate on a regular basis with parents of pupils with EAL, in order to inform them of progress and the next steps in the pupil’s learning and how they can support their child’s learning of English at home;
  • Produce accurate written reports on their pupils.

Flexibility with regards to working hours will be important to accommodate changes to pupil needs during the school year.
