Job overview

We have an opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic Media Lecturers to join us in the School of Creative Arts at our Blossomfield Campus.

The Creative Media Department is exciting and dynamic. We have a large cohort of committed Media students at Level 2 and Level 3 who aspire to be the next generation of Film and Media Broadcast Professionals and Content Creators.

The Creative Media Production and Technology courses we run focus on making content, encouraging Media students to create a range of high-level productions, including fiction films, documentaries, music videos, photographs, podcasts and live television. Relevant theory underpins everything students make but it is the practical application of skills which makes this programme of study really special.

Successful candidates will provide academic and pastoral support to students and respond to challenges in a creative way, ensuring that students are encouraged and developed to reach their full potential. An understanding of the needs and challenges of teaching a range of students is essential with a strong commitment to Equal Opportunities.

Possessing a Degree or industry experience in Media Production or content creation, the successful candidate will teach on, and contribute to, the development of programmes from UAL Level 2 Diploma in Media to UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology. The role will include planning, teaching, and assessing. Applicants should hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 5 teaching qualification.

Please note if you are selected for the next stage in the process, you will be required to attend the College’s premises, unless exceptional circumstances apply. Unfortunately, the College is unable to contribute towards the associated travel costs.

Solihull College & University Centre is committed to ensuring a safe environment for all students and expects all staff to engage fully with this commitment.

Interviews will take place on Friday 3rd March 2023
