Part-time Learning Support Assistant

The Merlin School is a small, co-educational Pre-Prep school in Putney. We currently have the following vacancy to start in September 2017:

Part-time Learning Support Assistant: to provide 1:1 learning support for a child with additional needs in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception class). The child is 5 years old and has Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and faces some difficulties with focus and following instructions, as well as social communication. 

Task of Learning Support Assistant is to ensure that the child can be supported in order to maximise their learning and interaction within the class environment, assisting with communication, social interactions and academic tasks. The candidate must be patient and know how to give direct instructions, assisting when necessary.

The candidate will work as part of a friendly and supportive team and lunch is provided. The candidate must be also be willing to meet with parents and relevant therapists (within working hours) in order to ensure learning goals are identified and achieved in coordinated manner.Experience in this field would be beneficial. 

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8.30-3.30 term time only
