Job overview

Part Time PPA Class Teacher

Tower Hamlets

£130 - £150 per day PAYE

September 2021 – July 2022

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is holding QTS and recent teaching experience across primary.

The role

Smart Teachers are recruiting for a part-time (three days per week), PPA Teacher to work in a diverse three-form entry school in Tower Hamlets. The suitable candidate will be working with year groups from Early Years up until Year 6. With this in mind, the successful candidate will ideally have strong behaviour management skills, a sound knowledge of the curriculum across primary and the ability to adapt to year groups within the school day. The Successful PPA teacher will be providing relief for those teachers required to plan. With this in mind, there will be no planning requirements, simply the delivery of lessons. The PPA teacher will be required for the full academic year and is likely to roll into September 2022. The days are relatively open at this point, however this could change. This would be a fabulous opportunity for any class teacher who is seeking to have a break from planning and managing one class. This could also be great for a NQT who wishes to have some more experience delivering lessons before committing to a class.

The school

The school has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and we have received extremely positive feedback from staff who have worked there before. More specifically, positive feedback is usually related to the pupils. Although there are some tough behaviours, overall the pupils are ambitious, enthusiastic and simply require a positive rapport with their PPA teacher. The team are friendly and welcoming, ensuring a community feel for all newcomers. All SEN pupils have a 1:1 Teaching assistant to support. Each classroom is fitted with interactive white boards, educational games, and resources as well as large windows and backdoors to the courtyard.  The school has just been revamped so all classrooms are very modern, have air conditioning and lots of light! The senior leadership teams are mindful of helping teachers develop, and so regular CPD are offered.  The school has a car park as well as close by to various transport links.

Requirements

To be considered for the PPA Teacher, you must:

• Hold QTS

• Behaviour management

• Have recent experience teaching various year groups across Primary

• Have recent or past experience working in Primary

• Eligibility to work in the UK (must have a valid visa)
