Padworth College, a co-educational boarding and day College for international and British students aged 14-18 years, has the following part time vacancy:

Science Technician

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Science Technician to join our team, working on a part-time basis, term time only. We are flexible with working hours and days but it is likely that it will be 15-20 hours per week with the possibility of more or less hours for the right candidate.

In this role you will provide technical support to the team of Science Teachers, contributing to students' learning experience by assisting with the preparation of materials and apparatus for practical work, innovating and creating new equipment. You may also be required to keep stock checks, place orders, take care of deliveries and invoices as well as keep departmental financial records.

The role comes with a competitive salart, subject to experience; 5% pension contributions; pro rata 25 days holidays & bank holidays; and all working time meals (during term time).

Located in Reading, Berkshire, Padworth College is a co-educational independent senior school. First established in 1963, the school became co-educational in 2005. The school has around 100 pupils aged 14-19, making it far smaller than the average secondary school. Padworth College occupies an 18-acre site, and is mainly housed in an 18th Century manor house. Despite this, the school can boast of a wide range of modern, high-quality teaching and recreational facilities. The school primarily accepts boarding pupils, although a small number of day pupils are in attendance.

Padworth College seeks to provide a unique education for its pupils. The school has no uniform, with all staff members being referred to by their first names. “The school is very successful in meeting its aims. The large majority of pupils are working in English as their second language and, as such, their achievements and learning are good. Pupils achieve good results in national examinations and make excellent progress overall. They benefit from a good curriculum, appropriate to their specific needs, although provision for physical education and sport is limited.”
