Job overview

Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to work 1:1 part time (mornings only) with a pupil excluded from school. Experience with children with SEMH and EBD is desirable for KS3. The role is to start ASAP.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate characteristics of high quality support and implement strategies for improving and sustaining high standards of teaching and learning. They will also be wanting to pursue the role as a teaching assistant as a long career.

It is essential that you have experience providing assistance to students with challenging behaviour. You will be required to work with pupils to build positive relationships and help children overcome barriers to learning. Experience supporting the teaching of core subjects such as English, Maths and Science is desirable along with experience facilitating 1:1 or small group interventions.

To be successful in this role you must have/be:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Appropriate recent experience
  • Good behaviour management
  • Be committed and dedicated in the learning and development of children
  • Have a nurturing character
