Parklands Primary School is offering a great opportunity from January for an enthusiastic and creative individual who can lead and inspire children at the beginning of their learning journey all the way through to Y6 as a SENCO. Are you that person to join our brilliant, hardworking team? The position is non class based and will be for 3 days a week. Wellbeing is everything at Parklands thus you will have the flexibility to choose the hours to suit yourself. 

Given the high level of SEND in school, including 22 children with EHC plans (x20 are in our brilliant Resourced Provision) and Top up Funding being in excess of £100000, this position will appeal to an existing SENCO with experience. Possession of the National Award in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination would be desirable however a willingness to undertake the Award will still be seen favourably. 

The school is an excellent hub serving the local community, with a caring and inclusive ethos and highly committed, friendly staff. Our aim is to maintain our high standards in all areas in our school.

You must have:

  • Qualifications – QTS
  • Possession of the National Award for SEN / willingness to undertake the Award  
  • Experience of funding applications and producing EHCP requests
  • A passion for working with children in Early Years
  • A desire to improve the life chances of all individuals
  • Ability to develop the learning of all the children in the setting regardless of ability
  • Confidence to follow Development Matters, but yet still use your own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A commitment to your own professional development 
  • A sense of humour
