Job overview

There is no other school quite like Pattison! This small, non-selective, independent, now part of Chatsworth Schools, has a real family atmosphere with 125+ pupils aged from 2 to 18+, with enviable class sizes and an historic reputation in the Performing Arts.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, creative and highly motivated teacher of Drama to join our team.  The is point 4 of a timetable

You will work closely with the other specialist performing arts staff to produce in-house productions, such as Christmas plays and showcases, as well as the annual production at a local theatre.

The Drama Department is an area of great strength at Pattison with all children, from Reception to Post 16 having a Drama lesson each week and being involved in an annual production.

Extra-curricular activities include Drama Clubs for pupils in Years 3 to 11. These take place after school, including preparation for Speech and Drama festivals.  The ability to teach Drama GCSE/A-Level or BTEC would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of the school's vision and values. They will be a supportive member of the school team and help ensure the success of Pattison.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal growth
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge
  • Use an appropriate range of observation, assessment, monitoring and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives
  • Monitoring learners’ progress and levels of attainment

Pattison is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo relevant background checks.
