Job overview

In our Modern Foreign Languages Department - Spanish, French, German and Mandarin Chinese are all offered as mainstream languages with some students studying two languages to GCSE and an increasing number of students opting to study a language at A Level.

The successful applicant will be passionate about teaching Spanish and promoting language learning. They will inspire students to appreciate the richness and diversity of the Spanish and Latin American language and culture. They will be well organised, energetic and willing to go the ‘extra mile’.

They will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a proven track record of successful Spanish teaching across different key stages and believe that all students can succeed in languages.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Language-related subject


Experience:

  • Experience of teaching up to and including A Level
  • ECTs are welcome to apply
  • Excellent awareness of ‘Keeping Children Safe’ and Safeguarding policy/ processes


Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • The ability to form and maintain excellent positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues


Personal Qualities:

  • An enthusiasm for developing the individual potential of every student
  • Patience, resilience, commitment, tolerance and a good sense of humour
  • Good organisational skills

Located in the town of Oswestry, Shropshire, Moreton Hall is an all-through school with a Sixth Form for pupils between the ages of 3 and 18. The school was founded in 1913 in an Elizabethan manor house. Boys are accepted up to Year 8. 

Values and vision

Moreton Hall aims to provide a high standard of education by following a tailored curriculum. It offers a nurturing environment that allows girls to grow and excel, personally and academically. Pupils are able to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities on the school grounds. The principal believes the aim of the school is to “stretch the most able and support the least confident”. Teachers are there to inform and guide students to be lifelong learners.

Those with individual needs are identified carefully so that all pupils can learn and make progress. Pupils’ personal development is supported through personal, social, health and citizenship education. This encourages pupils to respect others and listen to their views. Teaching provokes a wide range of activities in class which develop pupils’ understanding.”
