Job overview

The Edward Betham CE Primary School is looking to appointment an enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join our high-achieving two-form entry school. Graded as a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted in 2024, and an ‘Excellent’ school by SIAMS in 2022.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of working with children with additional needs
  • An understanding of autism (preferably, a certificated course related to autism)
  • A warm manner, yet an ability to maintain firm and clear boundaries for behaviour, learning and social communication
  • Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work in a team and make a positive contribution to raising standards and making all adults and children feel part of the school
  • A positive, pro-active approach to supporting pupils’ social and behavioural needs
  • Experience of running intervention programmes (e.g. Numeracy/Literacy programmes for pupils of lower ability with additional learning needs)
