We pride ourselves on being a school that offers our pupils a well-rounded and truly enjoyable education, and place great emphasis on giving our children a wide range of opportunities in the arts, music, outdoor learning and sport. As part of the Morley Primary Partnership our children and staff enjoy enhanced opportunities for collaboration with peers and colleagues across the other 8 Morley Primary Partnership schools. The Governors, staff and children of the school are seeking a Pastoral & Welfare Manager to join our educational support team.
We are looking for someone who will take a lead role within the school to help pupils to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside of the school, in order to enable them to reach their full potential, by:-
• being a Designated Leader of Safeguarding (DSL) within the school
• developing effective pupil support procedures, liaising with staff, parents and outside agencies
• taking a leading role in the management of the pastoral/inclusion support staff, including coordination and delegation of relevant activities
• contributing to the planning, development and monitoring of support services
• providing effective co-ordination and management of school lunchtimes and playtimes
• providing effective co-ordination and management of the school’s extended day (breakfast club and afterschool club)
• providing effective co-ordination and management of First Aid and other medical provision
You will need to:
• Have experience of working within a pastoral role, or other relevant experience
• Have line management experience
• Be committed to inclusion
• Have proven experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours and be emotionally resilient
• Be able to de-escalate possible conflict and challenging situations
• Be committed to developing the full potential of all children
• Work well as part of a team and have good interpersonal skills
• Have a positive outlook
• Hold Team Teach & First Aid qualifications, or be prepared to undertake these once in position
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
• Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
• Genuinely care about children and improving their life chances through positive school experiences
In return, we can offer:
• a friendly, welcoming school
• a supportive and forward-thinking leadership team
• a great team of dedicated and committed staff
• a commitment to your professional development and an exciting opportunity to work closely with the other schools in Morley
We are a school that strongly supports Rita Pierson’s theory that “Every Kid Needs A Champion” – we are looking for that champion!
