As a Pastoral Support Assistant at Hartwell School you’ll help us meet our young peoples’ emotional needs. Our young people have challenging complex emotional and behavioral needs and need more support than most. You’ll make sure they get it by applying high standards of care. It means working with families and developing programmes for each individual young person. With careful assessment and planning, you’ll create a positive learning environment where every young person can thrive. 

You already have experience working with young people with BESD or ASD in a school or care setting. So you understand their developmental needs and what pastoral care entails. A good listener who can motivate and work in a team, you inspire young people to achieve. Flexibility and good organizational skills mean you’ll be an asset to the Witherslack Group.

Hartwell School is our brand new, co-educational provision in Stockton and will be one of our largest schools with a capacity of up to 82 young people between the ages of 5-18. Like all of our schools, Hartwell School will offer state-of-the-art learning resources and well equipped environments. The school will be housed in a completely bespoke refurbished building, with great facilities including a full size sports hall, MUGA, and specialist classrooms for science, food technology and DT etc. Students will be supported in small class sizes, by well qualified and experienced staff to help them realise their full potential.
