Job overview

As a Pastoral Care Assistant at Pontville School, you’ll help us meet our young peoples’ emotional needs. Our young people have challenging complex emotional and behavioural needs and need more support than most. You’ll make sure they get it by applying high standards of care. It means working with families and developing programmes for each individual young person. With careful assessment and planning, you’ll create a positive learning environment where every young person can thrive.

You already have experience working with young people with ASC, ADHD or SEMH, in a school or care setting. So you understand their developmental needs and what pastoral care entails. A good listener who can motivate and work in a team, you inspire young people to achieve. Flexibility and good organizational skills mean you’ll be an asset to the Witherslack Group.

Pontville School is a co-educational, independent specialist day and residential school, providing, education and care for up to 140 pupils between the ages of 5 and 19 years with social communication difficulties, ASD and speech, language and communication difficulties. The school is set in fantastic grounds, allowing us to deliver a creatively designed curriculum, aimed at providing pupils with opportunities so that they can reach milestones in education and make progress with their emotional wellbeing and social development.
