Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for nearly 1500 boys, with over one hundred boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
Under the leadership of the Headmaster and working alongside senior colleagues, this exciting senior leadership post provides a unique opportunity to develop and implement a vision for the care of the School community. We are looking for an inspirational colleague who has an excellent understanding of pastoral care in a large school offering boarding facilities for around 110 boarders, many of whom come from overseas.
The successful candidate will build on Whitgift’s success and development through ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care for the pupils. Under the current pastoral support structure, s/he will work with a range of pastoral teams to ensure the wellbeing, good behaviour and personal development of all Whitgiftians and the highest standards of care. The prime focus of the role is to create and develop a culture within which every boy is known and valued, develops as a successful thoughtful and kind individual and develops the independence, resilience and character which enable him to flourish.
The Pastoral Deputy will also work closely with the Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster and Second Master in all aspects of strategic development.
