Salmons Brook School is seeking to employ an experienced Pastoral Lead to implement and lead on the Restorative Approach within the school community.  Salmons Brook School is a specialist SEMH school and so knowledge and experience working with young people with SEN and SEMH is a requirement.  We are looking for someone who is adaptable and ready to learn and grow with the school, we are a trauma-sensitive school and believe in a restorative approach to behaviour.  Our Pastoral Lead would need to both believe and lead on this across our school community.


Our Pastoral Lead will work within our wider leadership group, as a key member of the Inclusion Team, which is led by our Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion and Wellbeing. We view this key role as a leadership role with our school community, and as such we are looking for someone with capacity and skills to work at this level.


Our Pastoral Lead will be a calm and sensitive at times of potential dysregulation, they will be experienced in de-escalation techniques and have a working and practical knowledge of key frameworks such as emotion coaching, nurture principles and zones of regulation.  Our Pastoral Lead will need to be dedicated to our desire to improve the quality-of-life for our community and embody this in both their temperament and behaviours.


Salmons Brook School is a unique school community and so we are looking for someone who will compliment the existing staff team and who can work collaboratively with our students, families and staff to make an impact.


Hours: 36 hours per week, 42 weeks per annum (pro rata)

Actual Salary Range:  £44,292 - £47,116 p.a. inc (Scale SM2)
