Job overview

Dear Colleague,

Re: Opportunity to join the team

Thank you for your interest in a unique role at The Macclesfield Academy. We’re excited to bring in an additional team member to our pastoral and teaching staff.

We are a school on a steep upward trajectory. Our school is a vibrant, positive and exciting place to work. Our students are a joy to teach. We have been delighted with the response to significant changes brought in over the last year. Our new Year 7 is due to be heavily oversubscribed in September as parents choose their local school and have confidence in the direction of our Academy.

In terms of culture, we work within our guiding values of trust, respect, optimism, intentionality and care. We put ‘learning above all’ and focus on both ‘academic excellence’ for our teaching and both our students and staff being ‘known and valued’.

We are seeking to join a larger family of schools to collaborate and develop. In December we began a formal due diligence process with The Sir John Brunner Foundation MAT.

This role has been created due to the expansion of our school and accordingly our pastoral capacity. The exact responsibilities will evolve over time but will be a blend of subject teaching, predominantly at Key Stage 3 and significant time attending to the pastoral care of students. The final arrangements will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Please note we may choose to close the advert early in the event of exceptional candidates or a high volume of applications.

Yours faithfully

Mat Galvin
