Salary: £28,172- £31,645 (Pro rata salary £24,969 - £28,047). Incremental progression throughout the band is available  

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only | Hours per Week: 37 | Location: Lissadel Street, Salford, M6 6AP


The Pastoral Support Team at City Skills is a highly skilled team that works with students and parents to overcome barriers to learning. They provide pastoral support for students on courses ranging from Entry Level to Level 3.   

As a pastoral leader you will work alongside curriculum teams to break down barriers and ensure that all learners are able to achieve successful outcomes both academically and socially. You will have the skills to deliver exemplary, high quality tutorials and one to one meetings which ensure the achievement and progress of every learner.  You will be qualified to degree level or have equivalent relevant experience. Experience in delivering tutorials and knowledge of Safeguarding themes would also be an advantage. 

You will be required to provide advice and support on progression, personal, social, health and welfare issues, and refer students to other sources of support if necessary. As Pastoral Leader you will play an instrumental part in maintaining behaviour standards within the College, including taking part in student support and disciplinary meetings.


You will be required to actively promote, participate in and support in the college’s enrichment programme and work experience opportunities, including trips and visits when appropriate. The role involves working with students to engage them in the formation of a Student Council and other groups to increase the learner voice and well-being opportunities. 

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who is able to produce and analyse data, report on findings and implement strategies to help students meet the college’s high expectations of attendance, performance and progression.
