Vision for Education the supply arm of the TES, are looking for a Pastoral Manager to work on a long term / full time basis at a school in Newcastle who specialise in educating and supporting Secondary aged students who hold a statement or EHC plan where SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties) has been identified as the main category of need and whose needs cannot currently be met in a mainstream. 

This is a senior / managerial role to start as soon as possible and is for an experienced behavioural specialist who is passionate about overseeing 2 team Pastoral team member:


Role requirements

· Be the first point of contact and liaison between families and other children’s agencies, such as social services or child health.

· Be friendly, helpful and welcoming to parents and others visiting or making contact with the school.

· Be a good role model for students.

· Develop a relationship with students, which is professional, firm, fair, caring and friendly.

· Maintain an appropriate and professional distance with students in more informal situations, or when dealing with sixth form students.

· Implement behaviour policy and work through student behaviour issues.


Qualifications required:

· Educated to degree level (Teaching qualification not essential)

· Team Teach qualified (Not essential as Vision for Education can provide this training at no cost)

· Applicants must hold a current DBS (Children and Vulnerable Adults) and it be registered on the online update service or be willing to undergo a DBS check through Vision for Education. 

· Applicants must be available 5 days a week and be able to work in the Newcastle upon Tyne area.

· Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and meet all national safeguarding criteria.

· Hold a valid UK license and have access to a vehicle. (Not essential but preferable)
