Grade 5 Point 15 to 20, £22,911 to £25,295 per annum. Pro-rata £11,916 to £13,155.

Required to start September 2019

Term time: 22.5 hours per week x 39 weeks per year

We have a vacancy for a confident, enthusiastic and suitably qualified Pastoral Manager in our Post 16 Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strongly motivated person with experience of working with a broad spectrum of young people to play an important, varied role in this successful and ambitious School.

You will be involved in:

• organising the daily routines of students, ensuring their readiness to learn

• promoting excellent attendance

• liaising with parents, teaching and other support staff and external agencies

• supervising students around School

• encouraging full participation in School life and extending opportunities for students

• ensuring the highest standards of behaviour at all times

• providing targeted support to individuals or groups

• responding to safeguarding issues relating to students

 You will be an important person in the lives of our students and command their respect. You will know how to be very firm when required and fair at all times.  You will want them all to succeed.

 You should:

• have very good interpersonal skills

• be very well organised and efficient

• have a confident and professional manner

• have knowledge and understanding of young people from varied backgrounds and communities

• have very good literacy and numeracy skills

• be prepared to undergo a training and induction programme

• have participated in recent safeguarding training

King Edward VII School is a mainstream, state-community, co-educational, non-denominational, secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and it has over 1700 pupils on its roll, including over 600 in Sixth Form.
